Waterproof Jacket

When the forecast turns and the day still needs doing, a waterproof jacket is more than a layer—it’s the piece that keeps you moving comfortably and confidently. Ariat waterproof outerwear is built for the demands of Western life and work: long hours outdoors, changing conditions, and schedules that don’t pause for rain or wind. From packable shells for variable weather to insulated options for cold, wet chores, our collection is designed to deliver dependable coverage without restricting movement.

Across the range, you’ll find performance features that support comfort in motion—waterproof protection, breathability, and thoughtful construction that stands up to daily wear. The goal is straightforward: stay dry, stay comfortable, and stay focused on the task at hand. For lighter, packable options specifically designed for sudden downpours, explore our rain coats collection.

Where Waterproof Outerwear Earns Its Place

Different environments call for different kinds of protection. Ariat waterproof jackets are built with work, riding, and everyday utility in mind, so you can choose the right level of coverage for your routine.

Wet mornings, muddy pens, and steady drizzle are part of the job. A waterproof, breathable shell helps keep you dry while you move through chores, check fences, or manage livestock. If your day includes early starts and colder conditions, insulated options add warmth without excessive bulk. Complete your weather protection from the ground up with waterproof work boots designed to handle the same wet conditions.

On the job, weather protection needs to work with your movement—not against it. Look for durable fabrics, secure pockets, and a fit that layers smoothly over workwear while allowing reach, bend, and lift. Breathability matters here too, especially when work output stays high even as the rain comes down. For demanding jobsite conditions, check out our insulated waterproof work jackets that combine warmth with weather protection.

Equestrian training and barn life

Riding and horse care require range of motion in the shoulders and sleeves, plus coverage that stays in place when you’re in the saddle. Jackets designed with mobility in mind help you tack up, ride, and handle gear without feeling restricted. For long sessions in variable weather, breathable waterproofing helps manage both rain and internal heat buildup.

Everyday use and travel

A well-built waterproof jacket shouldn’t feel “work-only.” Clean styling, practical pocketing, and adaptable warmth make it a reliable option for commuting, outdoor projects, and weekend plans when the weather is unpredictable.

Technology and Materials That Support Performance

Ariat weather-protective outerwear is designed around systems that balance protection, breathability, and comfort.

DRYShield™ waterproof, breathable construction

DRYShield™ is engineered to help block external moisture while allowing internal moisture vapor to escape. That combination supports comfort during active wear—especially in wet conditions where staying dry shouldn’t mean feeling overheated.

AriatTEK® weather-adaptive features

AriatTEK® is built to support comfort across changing conditions. When temperatures shift or wind picks up, weather-adaptive design details help maintain a consistent feel so your outerwear performs across a broader range of environments.

Cool Climate Insulation™ (select styles)

For colder, wet days, select jackets feature Cool Climate Insulation™ to provide warmth while minimizing bulk. This helps preserve mobility for tasks that require reach and dexterity, from handling tack to working with tools and equipment. If insulation is a priority but waterproofing is less critical, explore our broader insulated jackets collection for cold-weather versatility.

Responsible finishing (select styles)

Some styles incorporate PFC-free finishes, engineered to reduce environmental impact while maintaining water repellency. Availability varies by product, so it’s best to check individual details if this feature is a priority.

Waterproof jackets should allow comfortable movement without excess fabric. When trying on, wear the base layers you use most often—especially if you work in changing temperatures. For riding, confirm sleeve length when arms are extended forward and check that back coverage stays put in a seated position. For work, prioritize shoulder mobility and secure cuffs and hems that help limit weather entry during movement.

To help preserve waterproof performance, wash in cold water with mild detergent and avoid fabric softeners, which can interfere with breathable technologies. Air drying is ideal; if machine drying is needed, use low heat. Always follow the specific care label. Over time, reproofing can help restore water repellency on the outer fabric, particularly after heavy use.

Everyday waterproof jackets focus on essential wet-weather protection and practical design for routine outdoor work, riding, and daily wear.

Premium options typically add enhanced comfort features, insulation choices, and design details intended for extended exposure and frequent wear in variable conditions.

Square Toe Work Boots: Western Heritage, Job-Ready Performance

When your workday stretches from early morning light to well past sunset, your boots are part of your tool kit—not an afterthought. Ariat square toe work boots are built for workers who spend real hours on concrete, gravel, steel decking, and open ground. Drawing on Western bootmaking tradition and modern performance engineering, these boots deliver the space, stability, and protection long shifts demand, with a clean profile that transitions easily from the jobsite to the feed store or a weekend cookout.

The square toe silhouette offers more than a modern look. It provides functional advantages that matter over time: room for natural foot movement, compatibility with safety toes, and a planted feel under load. Paired with Ariat’s proven comfort technologies and durable materials, square toe work boots are designed to support your body through demanding tasks—day after day.

The appeal of a square toe goes beyond style. Its geometry is especially well suited for physically demanding environments.

Forefoot comfort for long days

The broader toe box allows toes to spread naturally, helping reduce pressure points and hot spots during extended wear or when feet swell over long shifts. For those who need even more room, explore our steel toe wide boots collection.

Stable feel under load

A wider front platform contributes to a grounded stance when lifting, climbing, or bracing on uneven surfaces—useful across construction, industrial, and agricultural work.

Better integration with safety toes

Square toe designs pair cleanly with steel and composite safety caps, helping protective toes feel less cramped without compromising protection.

The silhouette reflects classic Western pull-on style, while the construction and components are engineered for modern jobsite demands. If you're looking for boots with similar styling but less focus on work features, check out our square toe western boots.

Ariat square toe work boots are built around comfort systems and components chosen for durability and real-world performance.

ATS® Ergonomic Support

ATS® (Advanced Torque Stability) technology is designed to promote proper alignment through the foot and lower body. A stabilizing platform, cushioned footbed, and supportive shank work together to help reduce fatigue during long, active days on hard or uneven surfaces.

4LR™ Lightweight Cushioning

For lighter-duty roles or those who prefer a more flexible feel, 4LR™ provides four layers of cushioning and support with reduced weight. It's a dependable, accessible option for everyday comfort on concrete and shop floors. Those seeking maximum weight reduction with safety protection should consider our lightweight steel toe boots.

DRYShield™ Waterproof Construction

When wet conditions are part of the job, DRYShield™ waterproof, breathable construction helps keep external moisture out while allowing internal vapor to escape. From rain-soaked yards to washdown areas, it supports comfort across changing conditions. Browse the full range of waterproof work boots for additional wet-weather options.

Duratread™ Outsoles

Duratread™ rubber outsoles are formulated for wear resistance, flexibility, and traction across a range of surfaces. Select styles add oil- and slip-resistant properties to help maintain footing on slick concrete, steel, or diesel-damp environments.

Safety Toe and Entry Options

Many styles are available with steel or composite safety toes meeting ASTM F2413 impact and compression standards. The U-Turn® Entry System—featured on select pull-on boots—uses a hidden flex panel to ease entry and deliver a secure fit, especially helpful for higher insteps or frequent on/off wear.

Choosing the Right Pair: Fit, Use Case, and Care

Selecting the right square toe work boot starts with understanding your environment.

Define your risks: Impact, compression, slick surfaces, moisture, or debris will guide safety toe and waterproofing choices.

Match support to workload: Choose 4LR™ for lighter, high-movement days; step up to ATS® for heavier loads and longer hours.

Dial in fit: Aim for a secure midfoot with room at the toes. A small amount of initial heel slip is normal and settles as the boot breaks in.

Sock strategy: Moisture-wicking, cushioned work socks help regulate temperature and reduce friction.

Care extends performance. Brush off dirt regularly, clean mud promptly, condition leather as needed, and air dry away from direct heat. Rotating between pairs on consecutive shifts allows boots to dry fully and can extend overall lifespan.
