Rated 2 out of 5 by SueB from Poor fit I bought the terrain II half chaps to go with my terrain boots a little over a month ago. I was a bit disappointed that they were so tight around my ankle and both me and the girl at the store had such a hard time getting them closed. Very tight around the ankle and very loose around the calves. We tried the medium and then the large but the large was too bid so I ended up buying the medium thinking that maybe they would give a bit. Nope they feel just as tight and now the zipper is having trouble zipping on one chap. I've tried zipping with them on and off but it just doesn't want to zip. Maybe this pair is a defect? I don't know but what I do know is that for the price I expected a much better fit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by janis from terrible and given wrong info Purchased these chaps to go with my Terrain H2O boots. I talked and emailed several times. Online service told me, no problem, they will fit together fine even though other reviews didn't support this. On phone, 2 agents couldn't answer my question, gave me information that really didn't make sense, and couldn't tell me how tall these chaps were that I ordered. Couldn't come close to finish zipping or snapping. Forget snapping, 2 inches apart. Anyway, returning items are never that much fun, but I had to go to UPS to send back. Disappointed and afraid to try another pair to wear with my Ariat boots.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sam667 from Fits great, snaps are AWFUL. I bought these because my friend had the original and they were great; airy, easy to zip, easy to snap. These fit me perfectly but the snaps get stuck EVERY SINGLE TIME. To the point where one of my half chaps no longer unsnaps at all and thankfully my foot is small enough to get out of the shoe without totally taking off my half chaps. The snaps are just the worst. And if I were being totally honest with my wish list of a better half chap: more mesh is needed - these aren't nearly as vented as the original ones either, and I can't seem to find any others that have more vents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jeanlouise from Long Wearing, Comfortable and Rugged I loved the first version of these chaps and have been waiting in hopes that they go back to the original style which came down lower over the All Terrain boot to give a much more integrated and attractive appearance. In answer to some questions in the reviews: They are extremely comfortable. They are cool but wear like iron and never pile up around your ankles. I hike in mine for tick and bee protection.and the stirrup strap isn't even worn after years and miles of hiking and trail clearing. Mine began tight in the shaft and gradually conformed to the shape of my leg and boot. The zippers are exremely sturdy and it is a major convenience to zip from top to bottom. They fit over the All Terrain boot but not over my All Terrain H2O boot. They outlasted 3 pairs of All Terrain boots which I replace every year and I'm going to keep them going for another year in hopes that Ariat goes back to the original version. Another wish is that they would make this chap to fit over the All Terrain H2O boot! If that's what you are trying to do, go large.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Joe4d from bad sizing You'd think the terrain half chaps would work with terrain shoes. You'd be wrong. The ankles are way too tight to have anve a chance of working, Even with the calves being too big. Plus, way way too tall. I am 6 foot, and these half chaps were more like 3/4 chaps. would rub back of knee. Endurance riders arnt showing in an arena. Make some frigging endurance chaps, IE shorter and big enough around the ankle to actually work with endurance shoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ambie Gentleman from Works well (but hard to zip at first) It might just be because I have monsterous winter boots to put these over but goodness was zipping them the first few times I struggle. I think the first time I struggled for a good five minutes before I managed to zip them over the boot. I think it's because, as others have said, the ankle is very tight. They work great now that I've used them a few times, though. Just be aware that getting them on the first couple times might prove difficult, especially if you have big winter boots to go with them because you live in the midwest and it's cold half of the year. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mel312 from Finally back! I bought the terrain shoes few year ago but got disappointed to don't find anymore the matching chaps. Although most endurance rider ride without half-chaps we are a few that can't without. Also very good for the long summer trekking on English saddle!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LauraandTodd from Fit like a glove I've owned terrains for years as an endurance rider and found these matching half chaps. They fit like a glove and allow me to ride for hours with out any issue. Very pleased!
