Rated 2 out of 5 by 2sore from Biting into top of foot I bought these boots today and wore them for a quick trot around the ring to wear them in. Just like the other review they are biting into the top of my foot enough to leave a deep indent in the right foot. I had to take them off in the car because I couldn't stand it any longer. The way the tongue is sewed in leaves a thick area right at the bottom of the laces that I didn't notice for the 3 minutes of wear in the store. I am going back tomorrow to see what can be done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by poohlp from Latest version has small but uncomfortable problem I've been riding in the performer pros since I started back riding in 2009. I love the fit and the support. My first pair were laces and then I went to zips after I wore holes into the first pair. The second pair are still in decent condition, but I recently sprained my ankle and wanted the extra support I could get from a laceup. After much searching (my size is backordered everywhere until August) I finally found my size and snapped them up because I knew they would fit and I love this boot. So when I started wearing them, I was surprised that Ariat had changed how the tongue is attached to the boot. Instead of being free on both sides- like it was in my first pair and attached on one side like it was in my zips, it now is sewn to both sides and folds back under itself when you lace up the boot. As a result, you get two bumps on the sides that sort of dig into your foot. I'm hoping that as the boot wears in this will go away, but for the meantime, it is VERY uncomfortable. I'm not sure why Ariat would do this. The only thing I can think of is that it is supposed to keep water out - but this isn't a waterproof boot, so I can't see why you would sacrifice the comfort of the boot, which is its main selling point and the reason I'm willing to sell out $50-$75 more for this model over the lower level models. :( Otherwise, it's a great boot and I love it, but I'm very unhappy with this one change and I can't really do anything about since I really didn't notice it until I had worn the boot to the barn.
