Badminton Horse Trials

In this tough and exciting equestrian event, horses and riders must compete over three to four days in a multitude of disciplines. Generally, on days one and two, you’ll see them first show off their dressage skills. Chatsworth International Horse Trials

Royal Windsor International Horse Show

This show jumping event is usually held annually in May, promising summer sun on the grounds of Windsor Castle in Berkshire. It is three days of world-class show jumping, perfect for riding enthusiasts looking to back their favourite horses and jockeys in the world, as well as for individuals looking to spectate an impressive and exciting sport.
General ticket holders don’t need to adhere to any dress code. However, if you’re in the members’ enclosure, smart dress is required.
Royal Ascot

Where: Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire
Held at one of Britain’s favourite racecourses, the Royal Ascot annual horse-racing event is the perfect summer occasion for equestrian lovers. Hosted over the course of a week in June, this flat racing meet gives guests a taste of tradition alongside an unmatched atmosphere, making it a thoroughly enjoyable day out. Its vibrant and celebratory feel is enjoyed by everyone including the royals!
Above all, be prepared to look your best. Whilst all of the four enclosures have a different dress code, the Royal Ascot is known to be a formal affair. The royal enclosure is the most formal. For ladies, headwear must be worn, and dresses, suits, and jumpsuits must adhere to the event guidelines. For men, morning dress in black, navy, or grey, and top hats should also be worn. Out of the four enclosures, the Windsor enclosure has the most relaxed dress code with no formal attire needed, but wearing smart daywear is just part of the Royal Ascot experience!
The Al Shira’aa Hickstead Derby

First held in 1961, the Hickstead Derby, held annually at the All England Jumping Course at Hickstead in West Sussex, is one of the most historic and popular classes in show jumping.

While the dress code is generally more relaxed compared to some other equestrian events, there are still certain expectations, especially for those attending in hospitality and premium areas.
CHIO Aachen

The CHIO Aachen, officially known as the World Equestrian Festival, is one of the most prestigious equestrian events in the world, held annually in Aachen, Germany.

The Agria Royal International Horse Show

The Agria Royal International Horse Show, held at Hickstead in West Sussex, is a prestigious and historic equestrian event. It attracts top riders and horses from around the globe, competing in various disciplines such as show jumping, dressage, and showing.
With a range of bars, restaurants, an extensive shopping village and the popular Ladies' Day competition held on the Saturday, it is little wonder this show is regarded as one of the highlights of the Sussex social season.
The dress code is smart-casual, although on Ladies' Day there are prizes for the best dressed and a few dress code rules to follow.
Falsterbo Horse Show

The Falsterbo Horse Show, held annually in Falsterbo, Sweden, is one of the most prestigious equestrian events in Scandinavia. Known for its top-tier show jumping and dressage competitions, this event attracts elite riders and horses from around the globe.

Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials

Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials

The dress code is casual and should be suited to the weather conditions on the day. Also bear in mind the mixed terrain and wear appropriate comfortable footwear, especially if you are planning to browse the extensive shopping.
Horse of the Year Show

Where: NEC Arena, Birmingham
The Horse of the Year Show is one of the longest-standing equestrian shows, bringing together the equestrian community for five days of equestrian competition in showing and show jumping. As one of the most prestigious events in the equestrian calendar, you’ll want to pencil this one in for October. Held at the impressive NEC Arena in Birmingham, you’ll experience a buzzing atmosphere with like-minded individuals looking to watch the very best in equestrian showing.
If you’re attending the Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evening shows with hospitality tickets, the dress code is strictly black tie, so pull out your very best attire and dress to impress!
Les Etoiles de Pau

Les Étoiles de Pau is a premier three-day eventing competition held annually in Pau. The show features a wide range of disciplines, including dressage, cross-country, and show jumping.
The event is held at the Château de Pau, a stunning historic venue that provides a picturesque and elegant backdrop. The combination of the historic setting and the high-level competition creates a unique and memorable atmosphere.
Most attendees opt for smart casual attire, however, for guests in hospitality or premium areas, a more formal dress code is expected.
London International Horse Show
When: December
Where: ExCel, London
The London International Horse Show is held annually in December at ExCeL London. Known for its festive atmosphere and world-class competition, the show features a wide range of disciplines, including show jumping, dressage, showing and driving.
There's also a shopping village with over 200 shops for all your Christmas shopping and a second arena showing, masterclasses and interviews.
For general attendees there is no strict dress code, however for VIP and hospitality guests' smart attire is necessary and there is a black-tie dress code for the evening.
