Tell us about your first horse/pony:

My first Western horse Commander Flit Fritz was the horse I did really well with in the Netherlands and internationally, he was a great horse.

How did you get started in your discipline?

I started with my old dressage pony Iwan doing Western riding and met my first husband Willem Burgmeijer and with that I really got very seriously into the sport of Western riding.

Mentor/idol when growing up?

I have been very lucky and had the opportunity to be around a lot of great horsemen and people during my career that helped me, but my dad was the one that supported me enormously when I was young. I have worked with Doug Milholland, Craig Johnson, Tim Mquay, Del Hendriks and my husband Dave.

Proudest career moment?

I can't give just one, as some of my smallest shows have been great moments for my horses and me, but the ones that come to mind are: Two times NRHA European Affiliate Open champion, two times Italian NRHA Derby champion (level 3), gold medal restricted division Masters Championships Sweden. Two times FEI year-end highest points rider/horse.

Why do you ride?

I love it and horses are my passion!

If you weren”t a professional rider, what would you be?

I probably would work in the emergency medicine or recovery.

Where is your favourite holiday destination?

Bocas Del Toro, Panama.

How do you unwind?

I really like doing yoga. Also I enjoy just relaxing in my hot tub.

Do you have a good luck charm, and if so, what is it?

I always wear a cross around my neck; it”s to keep me safe.

What is your favourite Ariat product?

High top cowboy boots and the Ariat shirts and jackets (I have not yet seen a product I do not like).
