Event in which you compete: Steer Wrestler

Hometown: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Number of years riding: I was born riding.

Career accomplishments to date:
• 2X World Champion (2005, 2009)
• 2010 Calgary Steer Wrestling Champion
• 2005 World Reserve All-Around Champion

How you got started in your event: I started ropin’ calves and then got into steer wrestling for another event so as to compete for the All-Around.

Length of time you’ve been sponsored by Ariat: Six years

Favorite Ariat product (by name): XR Pro Full-Quill Boots

Proudest career moment: 2005 World Champion Title.

Tell us about your first horse: My first steer-wrestling horse was Baby Cakes. He was old and crippled and on his way to the dog food factory. I took him, fixed him, and won two amateur titles – one in the steer wrestin’ and one in the calf ropin’.

You ride because: It’s better than a 9 to 5 job.

If you weren’t a professional rider, you would be a: Rancher, or train performance horses.

Favorite mentor or idol growing up: I had a lot of idols. Anyone that had a World Champion behind them was an idol to me.

Favorite place to travel: Northwest

Name one fun fact that people don’t know about you: I always turn my tab sideways on the soda cans.

Favorite way to unwind outside of the barn: The lake in the summertime and the ski hill in the wintertime.

Good luck charm: Shirts… If I don’t do well in them, they do not stay in my closet long. If I win in them, then I save them for the next big rodeos.
