What do PBR cowboys and Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes have in common? BOOTS and BULLS! That’s right, the San Jose Earthquakes hosted a bull weigh in and kick-around with top Ariat PBR bull riders. The event started off with the Ariat sponsored PBR bull riders—Wiley Peterson, Chris Shivers, Cord McCoy and Justin Koon—showing the San Jose Earthquakes team and loyal fans how much a PBR bull weighs. Then the cowboys weighed the Earthquakes against the bulls in a bull weigh-in– how many soccer players does it take to outweigh a 1500 pound bull? About 11!
Then all the players moved to the field in a shootout game. Since the playing field had to be somewhat even, all eight players (4 cowboys vs 4 soccer players) wore Ariat boots. Thanks to Ariat’s athletic shoe technology, each player didn’t have to worry about their feet and could concentrate on getting that ball in the net! The shootout involved a contest to see how many goals each play could score in boots.
