Rated 2 out of 5 by njdschul from Sad about the stitching Bought these boots because I loved the feel and fit. To this day I still love the way they fit, but unfortunately they get a 2 star because the stitching in the heel/ankle cup started coming out after about 2 months of wearing them, and I never even used them for anything strenuous. So now I have a pair of boots that I love, that I spent a good chunk of change on that I cant wear because they're falling apart.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Maxirat427 from Poor Stitching Same problem as many others have had. My original pair of these tan lacers wore for years until the soles wore out and I found they can not be resoled like my Justin lacers. Bought a new pair and after a few months the stitching in the heel cup broke. Had mine stitched by my local shoe shop. I love these boots but it seems they are just not the same as they used to be.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dewey x0xx from Not the quality Ariat used to be I have a pair I bought in '98. Best boots I've ever owned. Still going strong. I bought another pair of what I believed to be the same boot in black in '08. Same comfortable fit but thinner leather and poor stitching caused their demise within five years. My cobbler can do nothing to save them. Ariat is going to have to return to their former quality before I ever buy another pair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by jbr1218 from Sooooooo Disappointed I am a big fan of Ariat boots. I should say WAS a big fan. Over the years I have purchased several pairs. About 13 years ago I had purchased 2 pairs of these lacers. One brown and one black. They wore like iron, fit was awesome, I loved them. I recently purchased a new pair of what I thought (same product #) and was led to believe were the same black lacers. Understandably my original pairs had finally worn out. (I work in the office at a police department. I used the black pair for work so they had lasted a long time). The new pair is horrible!! The tongue won't stay up, it continually travels to the outside of my ankle, very uncomfortable. They are made so much cheaper than the quality of the pair I had purchased years ago. Many of the components are no longer solid leather, including the tongue which is no longer sewn along the inside of the boot to keep it in place. My original pair had a solid leather tongue which was attached part of the way up inside the boot on both sides. I have only worn the new pair for two months (at work in an office) and they already look almost as old as my original pair. I'm am so irritated. Very Very Poor quality!! Seems to me Ariat made a good name for themselves and now are sacrificing quality to save money. No more Ariats for me!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Teddy from Poor durability I like the soles and the comfort on these boots but unfortunately they have no durability. I have purchased multiple pairs of these boots due to limited selection of this style being available but unfortunately you are lucky if you get 6 months before the stitching falls apart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by YKnot from Oldies and very much goodies! I bought my first pair about 23 years ago at a Classic Draft Horse show. They were a fit right off the bat. I wore them every day, all day for years. I guess you can see that they did have a repair and I had them dyed. I have two newer pairs (Ariats, of course,) but they have not had nearly as much wear. I plan to go to Alaska in a couple weeks to ride with a friend. I am wearing all three pair to see which are the most comfortable. Guess which boots are making the trip with me? I do have one suggestion ... go back to the metal hooks!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sippin n dippin from I love these boots I've owned at least 3 pairs and love the boot for all it is, but just like many of the other bad reviews I had the heel/ankle stitching break within a couple months. If Ariat would just address this I'd probably die in these boots!
